He messed around with different size shims at the carrier bearing and found different thicknesses of shims would move the vibration from 60 mph to 70 mph. This seems like important information.
      The driveshaft is what all BMW technicians would look at second. The reason, there is not an experienced tech. Out there that has not gone through this. Typically the driveshaft vibration is felt in two ways, a harsh shake on hard acceleration, and or a vibration that starts to be noticable in the seat of the pants at approx. 45 mph and up.

Vibration only starts at about 60 MPH and then gets worse as speed increases. Vibration is even visable (steering wheel shakes).

The Centering Sleeve (or guide bushing) # 26 11 7 526 611 is the bushing the installs into the nose of the driveshaft and it centers the forward end of the driveshaft on the end on the transmission output shaft.

      2007 BMW 328xi - vibration developed. BMW dealer replaced front brake pads/rotors and steering wheel beagn to oscillate at about 65 mph when crusiing. Repalced rotors again, tried new wheels and tires, tried to balance wheels at two shops, vibration ocntinues. What else can cause vibration and could damage have come while in shop?
